U.S.A international Robbie Rogers signs deal with Leeds United subject to securing a work permit for the former Columbus Crew player.
As previously reported by us in December Leeds United have signed former Columbus Crew winger and U.S.A international Robbie Rogers subject to securing a British work permit. The 24-year-old winger has been in the country for some time and rumours suggest he has been with the Leeds United squad since the Christmas period.
The deal isn’t yet confirmed due to the initial wait for the work permit to be accepted. However the club is hoping to have this granted in time for the clubs league fixture at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace this weekend
Leeds United manager Simon Grayson had this to say about Rogers
“We’re delighted to have agreed a deal with Robbie,
He’s been training with us and he came to Arsenal to get a feel of the group.
He has been playing in the MLS where he has done well, he wants to continue his career in Europe, and we believe he will make an impact here.
As soon the work permit business is complete he will be an immediate part of our plans and have an opportunity with the first team.”
